Forest Bathing+ Sessions

About:
IMG_7690.HEIC

Hi, my name is Katie and I am currently training as a Forest Bathing+ Guide with the Forest Bathing Institute.

I find nature and the outdoors a place that I strongly connect to, it helps to give me some perspective on things, especially when times become stressful and busy. I would love to be able to facilitate a space for others to also benefit from the positive effects nature brings me and that is why I have chosen this path to becoming a fully qualified Forest Bathing+ Guide.

So... what is Forest Bathing?

I would best describe Forest Bathing as a slow walk through nature, with some sensory exercises along the way, and allowing our body and mind to slow down and breathe in the forest air. These sessions usually last between 2-3 hours and in that time we don't actually cover that much distance.

Forest Bathing can have many benefits, both physically and mentally, these have been scientifically proven. Benefits can include; reduced stress levels, reduced blood pressure, stronger immune system response, and improved concentration & memory.

Practice Sessions

As part of my training with The Forest Bathing Institute, I am required to complete a number of practice sessions to build up my experience as a guide. These practice sessions are free of charge in exchange for feedback post session.

I am lucky enough to have teamed up with Glendye Cabins & Cottages to run my practice sessions on site and am grateful for the support from the Cairngorms Youth Fund on behalf of the Cairngorms Trust.
