This visual, sound and movement exploration is inspired by field recordings from a variety of landscapes in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. 

“Where would you go if the world was ending?”

Through months of reflecting and researching this question, the answers took me outside, particularly to the coast.

How do we deal with this question in this time of climate breakdown?

How do we find calmness in chaos?

How can we be still and slow in such urgency?

We must meld to the pace of nature, the rhythms of the tide, the patterns in the sand. Discover and follow our natural paths.

A short series of dance films exploring the difference between an external appearance and our internal experience. Throughout the process we explored illusion, perception, mental health, clothing, stereotypes, falsehood, truths and more.

Highlighting the concept of carbon footprint. Our impact does not go away, unless we actively do something about it. Taking time to slow down and consider the marks left behind.

'Clearing' is a place to play, to seek sanctuary, to be in motion and in stillness. Float through the ocean, explore the shore, find yourself between the comfort of the clouds and the support of the sand.

With regards to the natural order of the planet and its intricate ecosystems it seems that humans place themselves at the top of the pecking order but how valid actually are we in the eyes of the Earth?
